What Kind of Soil Do Autoflower Seeds Need?

- 1 part vermiculite

Because autos aren’t responsive to light when it comes to flowering, cultivators can choose to keep the lights on for anywhere from 18–24 hours.
A light cycle of 18-6 will supply your plants with all of their energy needs while saving you some money on your electricity bill.
If costs don't concern you, keeping the lights on for 20–24 hours each day throughout the growing cycle could result in larger yields and faster growth.
How To Grow Outdoor Autoflower Seeds
Autoflowers are easy to grow outdoors during almost any time of the year.
Whereas photoperiod strains are beholden to the light cycle of the seasons, autos do their own thing. You can sow them from February to September and expect a harvest, provided you avoid any risk of frost.
We recommend sowing seeds in waves every few weeks across the growing season for a harvest every fortnight.
Growing in different areas of your garden will also help you understand where your cannabis plants perform the best, and where to concentrate your efforts next year.
The Perfect Humidity and Temperature for Your Autos
Although hardy, autoflower cannabis still requires certain temperatures and humidity levels to provide optimal results. Aim for these parameters:
- Temperature: 21°C
- Humidity during veg: 50–60%
- Humidity during flowering: 40%
What Kind of Nutrients Do Autoflowers Need?
Autos require fewer nutrients than their photoperiod counterparts. Because of their smaller size, they have less of a demand for minerals and elements that assist in the creation of energy, proteins, and other components of plant physiology.

What Kind of Water Do Autoflower Strains Need?
Autoflower weed plants require water and nutrient solutions with a pH of 6–7 (when grown in soil). Use a pH meter to measure your preparations and apply pH up or down solutions to maintain an appropriate level.
When it comes to watering, be careful not to overdo things. Autos have a smaller root system than photoperiod strains and require much less water.
Make sure the growing medium is completely dry before watering; this will help to prevent root rot and suffocation.
